Where to stay on the Gold Coast

We are unable to guarantee your check-in before 3 pm however if your room is ready before this time we will certainly check you in earlier.  We are also happy to hold your luggage until your room becomes available and in the meantime, you are very welcome to use our hotel facilities.

Our guests are welcome to use the parking facilities located on Casino Drive at The Star Gold Coast. Dorsett Hotel guests can benefit from a special flat parking rate of $20 per night during their stay.

Please note, that car parking is not guaranteed as part of a hotel booking and is subject to availability.

The best parking for hotel access is on levels 3, 3M and 4. When entering The Star Gold Coast car park, please follow the signage to Tower 1. There are no parking facilities available for tall vehicles (over 1.95m).

Alternate paid parking is available at the Gold Coast Convention and Exhibition Centre and the Oasis Shopping Centre in Broadbeach. You are welcome to drop your luggage off at reception before parking off-site.

 You can get to The Star via direct internal access from the lobby of Dorsett Gold Coast. Simply follow the undercover walkway and be there in just a few minutes.

Pacific Fair is located on Hooker Blvd in Broadbeach Waters, just 800m from Dorsett Gold Coast. You can walk there from our hotel in about 12 minutes, or be there by car in about 10 minutes.

The beautiful Kurrawa Beach is just a 5-minute walk from Dorsett Gold Coast. Travel a little further north and be at the Broadbeach sands in 20 minutes via walk or 5 minutes via car. Go south and discover Mermaid Beach in a 23-minute walk or 8-minute drive.

Getting around Broadbeach and the wider Gold Coast area is easy and convenient thanks to various transportation options:

Public Transport: The Gold Coast has an extensive public transport network, including buses and trams operated by TransLink, making it simple to travel to nearby attractions and suburbs.

G:link Tram: The G:link tram system provides a fast and efficient way to travel along the coast. Broadbeach North and Broadbeach South stations, located a short walk from Dorsett Gold Coast, allows easy access to popular destinations such as Surfers Paradise, Southport, and Helensvale.

Ride-Sharing: Services like Uber and local taxi companies offer convenient door-to-door transportation options, ideal for shorter trips.

Walking and Cycling: Broadbeach is a pedestrian-friendly area with well-maintained sidewalks and dedicated cycling paths. Exploring on foot or by bike is a great way to enjoy the coastal scenery and visit nearby attractions at a leisurely pace.

Car Rental: If you prefer the flexibility of having your own vehicle, car rental services are readily available in Broadbeach and throughout the Gold Coast.

On the Gold Coast, a Go Card is the easiest and cheapest payment method available. You can purchase a Go Card from most convenience stores and newsagents throughout the city and at the airport, as well as from shops like Big W and Kmart. Simply top up your card with money if and when you need to, either online or at a station fare machine.

Credit cards, debit cards and mobile phone tap & pay are also accepted on buses in Broadbeach and the Gold Coast.

Keep in mind that you cannot purchase a single paper ticket on board a bus, train, or G:link light rail. Paper tickets can only be issued by station fare machines or attendants.
