The Putrajaya Lake, situated in the heart of the city, stands out as one of Malaysia's largest man-made lakes, covering an expansive area of 650 hectares. It is renowned for water sports and recreational pursuits.

It is the largest constructed freshwater wetlands in the tropics and the first man-made wetland in Malaysia, serves as a wildlife sanctuary, drawing a diverse array of animals to its combined terrestrial-aquatic wetland habitat. Numerous species of local marshland and water birds, such as the little egret and cinnamon bittern, as well as migratory birds from the Northern Hemisphere, have been sighted here.

Marina Putrajaya, formerly known as Maritime Centre, is a recreational and athletic facility located adjacent to Putrajaya Lakeside in Precinct 5. This facility is widely recognized as a leading destination for extreme water sports and athletic training, attracting numerous sports enthusiasts.

Standing at 68m, this monument makes a commanding sight. Constructed of solid metal, this national monument is uniquely shaped like an obelisk with etchings denoting important milestones and periods in the nation's history. At night, it serves as a beacon with lights projected at 360 degrees.

Located next to Perdana Putra, this is the principal mosque in Putrajaya. Built with rose-tinted granite that gives it its distinctive colour, the mosque can accommodate 15,000 worshippers at one time. In front of the mosque is a large square with flagpoles flying the various flags of the Malaysian states.

Constructed using cable technology and steel supports, the Seri Wawasan Bridge boasts an asymmetrical and highly futuristic design as it stretches across the 240-meter-long Putrajaya Lake. When evening falls, its colourful neon lights, arranged in a unique pattern, make it visible from a distance- forming a mesmerizing panorama that captivates visitors and invites them to capture beautiful moments.

Most prominent government offices are located in close proximity to Dorsett Putrajaya. The nearest main government office – Palace of Justice Putrajaya houses the Malaysian Court of Appeal and Federal Court. The building design incorporates influences from classical Islamic culture.

The Putrajaya International Convention Centre (widely known as PICC) hosts a diverse range of events, including conferences, seminars, trade shows, gala dinners and artistic performances. Its versatile spaces accommodate small gatherings as effectively as large-scale international conferences, fostering a dynamic event ecosystem.

The mosque's design is a fusion of traditional Islamic architecture with modern influences. Its most distinctive feature is the large main dome, which is made of steel and designed to resemble an open umbrella. This dome is surrounded by smaller domes and minarets, creating a visually stunning skyline. As its nickname suggests, the mosque is often referred to as the Iron Mosque due to its extensive use of iron and steel in its construction. This innovative use of materials not only adds to its unique aesthetic but also reflects Malaysia's progressive approach to blending tradition with contemporary design.
